New commitment to Jisc education sector telecoms framework by TNP05/11/2018
TNP (The Networking People) has renewed its commitment to delivering innovative high-capacity connectivity to further and higher education institutions and research organisations through the Jisc telecommunications framework.
Public sector network specialist TNP has been named as a vendor offering managed transmission services through the nationwide framework created by Jisc since 2014 to provide more flexible high capacity connectivity options.
The innovative and cost-effective point-to-point wide-area network solutions offered by TNP have proved a good fit with higher education institutions and research organisations. TNP has now signed up for another 4 years as a vendor within the framework.
Chris Wade, Commercial Director at Lancaster-based TNP, explains:
Being part of the framework validates TNP as a major player within the UK education sector and has been a key element in our continuing commitment to supporting education which requires reliable and cost-effective high capacity connections.
“Framework users appreciate our extensive experience designing, building and supporting higher education-based networks. Alongside cost-effective leased line solutions, we offer customers the option of owning their own infrastructure, reducing operating costs and leveraging existing investment through the use of alternative technologies. We allow much greater flexibility and long-term sustainability, which we know the education sector needs.”
The Jisc framework can be used by further and higher education purchasing consortia, specialist colleges and research council establishments in the UK to purchase transmission services including leased circuits, dark fibre, wide-area Ethernet and xDSL.
