TNP creates high-capacity digital network for new Lancaster business hub07/04/2021
Digital network specialist TNP (The Networking People) is providing the high speed and high-capacity connectivity infrastructure for the new £1.5 million Fraser House Business Hub set to open in Lancaster during April.
Secure high performance digital connectivity is a key requisite of the new business hub at the White Cross Business Park, which is offering three floors of modern working space for tech and digital businesses.
All floors will have high-specification digital connectivity with full-fibre Internet connectivity of up to 10Gb/s, which is essential for the sector.
The building is being developed by Lancashire County Developments Ltd, Lancashire County Council’s economic development company. Local partners including Lancaster University and Lancaster City Council, along with local business owners have helped to co-design the space to ensure it responds to the needs of the community.
TNP Commercial Director Chris Wade said that TNP was delighted to be involved in the new development. The company is already a key player in Lancaster’s digital community and in 2019 opened a new £1 million headquarters in the city.
He said: “Secure, high quality, high capacity digital connectivity is a vital part of the infrastructure for businesses involved in this growing sector, and we are also providing a user-friendly, free to use wireless service that gives visitors easy access to the internet. Our system will provide all that along with the flexibility to easily accommodate new users as businesses move into the hub and grow.
We work with local authorities, healthcare trusts, colleges and universities across the UK, and we welcome the opportunity to demonstrate our expertise right here in a showcase building on our own doorstep.
The specification for the digital network designed, installed and commissioned by TNP includes internet connectivity up to 10Gb with fail-safe resilient connection options, high capacity inter-floor fibre connections with Wi-Fi access points on each floor, full building Wi-Fi coverage and a Cloud Connect guest wireless portal for simple registration.
TNP is responsible for on-going monitoring, security and support of the system with a 24/7 helpdesk run by technical engineers. TNP’s virtual technical team will provide guidance and support for all issues on the customer network, and advice on commercial and business management issues for tenants.
