TNP technical director joins cyber security elite01/08/2017

TNP Technical Director Robin Williams has gained the Fortinet NSE8 Security Expert designation which places him among the worldwide cyber security elite.

Robin is the second member of TNP’s team to achieve the NSE8 designation, which is also held by co-founder Scott Daniels.

Chris Wade, Commercial Director at TNP (The Networking People (Northwest) Ltd), explained: “It is rare for individuals to gain this exemplary standard in cyber security qualification, so having two people within our team achieve this standard is testimony to our continuing commitment to offer breadth and depth of capability and vital skills.

Public sector organisations such as local government, health trusts and educational institutions occupy high profile positions within their communities and cannot afford to suffer security breaches and setbacks. They should expect the highest standards from suppliers and TNP is setting that standard.

Robin passed written and practical examinations which recognise in-depth knowledge of network security design, configuration, and troubleshooting for complex networks. He had to demonstrate an ability to design, configure, install, and deliver a comprehensive network security solution in a live environment.

Candidates must also have experience in a variety of complex networks, solving complicated security problems. Robin has more than 10 years’ experience of building carrier class networks for the public sector and oversees the TNP core ISP network, as well as having technical oversight of all network proposals and designs.

The NSE8 Security Expert designation adds to Robin’s long list of qualifications including Juniper Networks Certified Internet Expert (JNCIE) and Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP).

Anne Bourgeois, Senior Channel Director, International at Fortinet commented:

TNP securing an additional NSE 8 certification once again underpins their commitment to Fortinet and securing their customers. In the increasingly complex security landscape, it is essential that customers have confidence in their partners. The Fortinet NSE program ensures that partners investing time, money and resource have the skills and capability to deliver assurance to their Fortinet customers.
